Transcripts tell us what was said, but they leave out how it sounded. In this journal club, we’ll look at recent work on audio language models and discuss how clinical audio might be used alongside—or beyond—traditional transcription.
We’ll begin with a short overview of the papers and key ideas, followed by a group discussion: What information is lost in transcripts? How can we work with long clinical recordings? What would responsible evaluation look like in a clinical setting?
