About Event

Join us for a special screening of SWEET STÖRY, the award-winning documentary about community, renewal, Scandinavian traditions — and the unexpected power of baking.

The film follows Meg Ray, founder of the beloved Bay Area pastry company Miette, as she leaves California for Rödlöga, a remote island in the Stockholm Archipelago. There, she joins a small group of islanders in an ambitious effort to bring Café Truten, a tiny seasonal café and important gathering place for the local community, back to life in time for Midsummer.

With limited running water, unreliable electricity and only days to prepare, Meg and her team face plenty of challenges along the way. What unfolds is a warm and beautifully filmed story about friendship, fika, sustainability and what can happen when a few people come together to make their corner of the world a little better.

SWEET STÖRY premiered as the Opening Night Film at the Sonoma International Film Festival and has since received multiple awards.

We hope you’ll join us for an evening of film, community and a little taste of Sweden.

The screening will be in English.
