About Event

Rethinking demolition and circularity in landscape architecture means recognising that old and new must co-exist. If we are to be truly circular, how can we reimagine what is valuable in our built environments? What if repurposed materials became the ground for new expression, while the imprints of what came before were expressed as an honest record of People and Place? What is the memory of soil? Within the richly layered tapestries of our cities, we must ask: what is authentic, and what is original? Where architecture is at its peak the moment it is completed, landscapes are at their rawest - only becoming whole as living systems and inhabitation take hold.

Kiri Bowmer is a Senior Landscape Architect and Graduate of Architecture. Kiri values work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment and is excited by the cross-pollination of ideas and creative opportunities this presents. Kiri is interested in landscape architecture as a tool to foster meaningful social, cultural and environmental change, in particular the response to climate change, healing landscapes and eco-tourism and links with land and country. Being a tactile, hands-on designer, Kiri is passionate about materiality, in particular using local materials that improve and develop over time and tell a story of 'place'. Kiri has worked on projects ranging in scope across landscape, urban design, architecture and planning.
