Let’s talk about all things narrative in video games - at Saftladen! The Game Narrative Meetup and Saftladen Indie Game Collective will partner to bring you a space where Narrative Designers and Game Writers of any level are welcome to connect in the cozy meeting room of the co-working space.
This is a special event with the theme "How game mechanics communicate aspects of narrative," as there will be micro-presentations and discussions regarding this topic. Together we can exchange experiences and knowledge about our craft, with the goal to develop and empower our discipline.
Do you work in an adjacent field or are you simply interested in what we do? To support interdisciplinary exchange we will admit a certain number of people for this purpose, depending on overall capacity. Regarding the registration questionnaire, our goal is to assess the expertise level and motivation of the participants, in order to facilitate a balanced, professional, and multifaceted conversation.
The Game Narrative Meetup is a recurring event (usually in restaurants) on Tuesdays, every four weeks.
We want to create a safer space. Please read our code of conduct and contact us if you witness a violation of that code. Recording is only allowed after previous consent by the participants. Devices whose appearence might conceal a recording functionality that is not part of their common uses, such as Meta AI Glasses, are strictly forbidden. The violation of rules constitutes effective ground to exclude a participant from the current event and possibly future ones as well.
The location is wheelchair accessible, but bathroom doors might not be wide enough.

Narrative Designer und Game Writer aller Erfahrungsstufen sind herzlich eingeladen, im gemütlichen Meeting Raum des Co-Working-Spaces zusammen zu kommen für ein spezielles Meetup zum Thema „Wie Spielemechaniken narrative Aspekte kommunizieren“ - mit Mikro-Präsentationen und Diskussionen dazu! Gemeinsam können wir Erfahrungen und Wissen über unser Handwerk austauschen, mit dem Ziel, unsere Disziplin weiterzuentwickeln und zu stärken.
Arbeitest du in einem verwandten Bereich oder interessierst du dich einfach für das, was wir tun? Um den interdisziplinären Austausch zu fördern, lassen wir eine bestimmte Anzahl von Personen zu diesem Zweck zu, abhängig von der Gesamtkapazität. Mit dem Fragebogen bei der Anmeldung möchten wir die Expertise und Beweggründe der Teilnehmenden einschätzen, um eine ausgewogene, professionelle und facettenreiche Unterhaltung zu ermöglichen.
Das Game Narrative Meetup findet i.d.R. alle vier Wochen dienstags in wechselnden Restaurants statt.
Wir möchten einen sicheren Raum für alle schaffen. Bitte beachte unseren Verhaltenskodex und kontaktiere uns, wenn du einen Verstoß gegen diese Regeln beobachtest. Geräte, deren Aussehen eine Aufnahmefunktion verbergen, die nicht zu ihrem üblichen Verwendungszweck gehört, wie beispielsweise Meta-AI-Brillen, sind strengstens verboten. Bei Verstoß gegen Regeln behalten wir uns den Ausschluss aus der aktuellen Veranstaltung (sowie möglicherweise zukünftigen Veranstaltungen) vor.
Der Veranstaltungsort ist barrierefrei, die Toiletten haben jedoch schmale Türen.
