What's "tapeograpy?" Tapeography is a technique that Hunters Point Shipyard Artist Rhonel Roberts employs in his artwork, using masking tape to create crisp lines and shapes. It can be used to create letters and shapes that become elements of a larger design.
In this guided creative session, you’ll use masking tape to create bold, expressive artwork while learning a simple hands-on process. Perfect for beginners, a creative afternoon out, or anyone wanting to try something new.
No experience needed, just bring yourself and get ready to create. All materials are provided.

Rhonel Roberts is native Californian who is now living the creative life as a full-time artist, after a career in design, interior design, and a 12-year stint at the Apple Union Square, where he became one of Apple’s very first Creative Pros and the first Creative Pro man of color. He has had a studio at Hunters Point Shipyard since 2003, where he creates his colorful, geometric "tapeography" paintings. He also hosts experiences to encourage team building through art, where people disconnect from their devices and connect to each other.
