

MIBT Cardano Hackathon 2025
MIBT Cardano Hub – 5-Day Virtual Bootcamp + Hackathon
Hosted under the CAT Summit 2026 Program
The MIBT Cardano Hub 5-Day Virtual Bootcamp is an immersive training experience designed to prepare developers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and students for the Cardano Hackathon on December 27.
Participants will explore real African challenges, form multidisciplinary teams, learn blockchain fundamentals, and begin shaping impactful Web3 solutions.
The program concludes with an in-person Hackathon at the MIBT Innovation Hub, where teams will build and pitch prototypes.
At least eight strong teams are expected to emerge from this Bootcamp.
The top three teams will receive awards, and leading teams may qualify to represent Zambia at the CAT 2026 Showcase in Nairobi, Kenya, in February 2026.
📅 PROGRAM OVERVIEW (5-DAY BOOTCAMP + HACKATHON)
DAY 1 — Community Exploration & Pain Point Discovery
Participants study real challenges affecting Zambia and AfCFTA regions. Teams begin clustering around problem areas they want to solve.
🟦 Outcome: Shared understanding of community needs and thematic focus areas.
DAY 2 — Skills Mapping & Team Formation
Participants indicate their skills and join teams aligned with selected community pain points. Balanced teams form with developers, designers, product thinkers, researchers, and storytellers.
🟦 Outcome: Fully formed teams with clear roles and communication channels.
DAY 3 — Problem Definition & Solution Direction
Teams refine their chosen problem, outline the target users, and define their initial solution approach. A foundation session on Cardano blockchain and essential tools is delivered.
🟦 Outcome: Clear problem statement, early solution concept, tools installed.
DAY 4 — Prototype Planning & Documentation Setup
Teams build their MVP plan, outline user flows, and set up documentation using GitHub, Obsidian, Vercel, and Prisma Propagate.
🟦 Outcome: MVP blueprint, architecture outline, documentation and workflow established.
DAY 5 — Hackathon Readiness & Pitch Preparation
Teams finalize roles, demo flows, and pitch structure. They prepare their messaging on problem, solution, impact, and technology.
🟦 Outcome: Hackathon-ready teams with clear execution and presentation plans.
🎉 DAY 6 — THE CARDANO HACKATHON (In-Person)

Teams gather for a full-day build sprint where they will:
Build functional prototypes
Integrate Cardano features or validated simulations
Finalize documentation
Pitch their solutions to a judging panel
💡 Eight teams will emerge from the competition,

🌍 Leading teams may be selected to represent Zambia at the CAT 2026 Nairobi Showcase in February 2026.
