Agentic AI In Action
Agentic AI in Action
Agentic AI is moving beyond chatbots—from individual agents that use tools, to multi-agent teams that collaborate, and finally to agents operating inside real customer and enterprise workflows.
Join GDG on Campus UNSW and UNSW Founders for an evening of expert talks, practical insights and a guided hands-on building session exploring the next generation of Agentic AI.
Throughout the event, we will explore technologies and practices across the Google Cloud AI ecosystem, including Gemini, Google Agent Development Kit (ADK) and the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Speakers & Sessions
Anu Phoghat
Google Developer Expert (GDE), Founder
The Plug-and-Play Agent: Orchestrating Micro-Agents with MCP and Google ADK
Explore how the Model Context Protocol enables AI agents to connect with tools, data sources and external applications, and how Google ADK can be used to build modular and extensible agent systems powered by Gemini.
Maverick Cui
GDG on Campus UNSW Organizer · AI Architect
Beyond the Single Agent: The Operating System for AI Teams
Discover how individual agents evolve into multi-agent systems and scalable Agent Teams through role specialisation, collaboration patterns, shared memory, organisation topology and agent-cluster governance.
Aaron Xie
Founder, OpenOnion
Agent FDE: How Can Agents Enter a Customer’s Business?
Learn how Forward Deployed Engineers identify valuable Agent use cases, redesign business processes and bring AI agents from technical prototypes into real customer and enterprise workflows.
Guided Building Session
After the speaker sessions, participants will join a guided hands-on building session using starter code, MCP, Google ADK and Gemini.
You will have the opportunity to:
Configure a local Agent environment
Connect an Agent with an MCP-based tool
Run and test an Agent using Gemini
Explore how Agents select and call external capabilities
Experiment with modifying tools and Agent behaviour
What to Bring
Please bring:
A laptop and charger
A code editor such as VS Code
Git and Python installed where possible
Creating a Gemini API Key through Google AI Studio before the event is optional but recommended, as it will help you get started more quickly during the building session.
Please keep your API key private and never upload it to a public repository.
No prior experience with MCP or Google ADK is required. Basic programming familiarity will be helpful for the hands-on session.
