FREE PILOT • Perinatal Art Group
An art group where you can bring your baby, eat biscuits and put the world to rights!
As this is the pilot of a new group in a new space this class is free of charge.
Hosted by Victoria Billingham who has previously worked with Anomaly Arts and Light Charity to provide a calm and nourishing creative space to new mums. This group is for anyone on any stage of the motherhood journey. I believe post partum is not just the first year, it changes and grows into its own thing that is easier at times than others. Sometimes we need to take some time for ourselves to do something nourishing in order to make the journey easier!
Each mum will receive a small handmade sketchbook to work in if they want to. You are free to do whatever art practise you want, and there will also be a theme each week chosen for its meditative qualities eg. botanical drawing, art journalling, embroidery, mandala making. Victoria will be on hand to help with different techniques if you need.
No topic is too big or too small. This is a place to bring your thoughts to share, and equally if you'd rather not share at all that is completely fine. The main aim is to get stuck into some creative projects that you can take home and carry on whenever suits you.
Basic materials provided, area for babies to play right next to the mum crafting table. All staff members have enhanced DBS checks.
