Embraceme in Bereavement
What this event is
This is a meet-and-greet session for Embraceme support groups on bereavement. Think of it as a door, not a commitment. We'll talk about what grief actually does. What it does to our mind, our body, our daily life. And why connection matters even when (especially when) we'd rather hide.
You don't need to share your story. You just need to be curious enough to show up.
And if you come and decide it's not for you, that's completely fine too. Or not. Just kidding, it really is fine.
Who will be holding the space for us?
Vira Zalyvadna, a grief counselor
Anna Lazitskaya, a peer support evangelist
A bit more on peer support
Peer support is not therapy. No one is going to analyze you or tell you what stage you're in. What groups do is something weirdly simple. They let you sit next to someone who gets it. Without explaining. Without performing your pain. Sometimes you talk. Sometimes you just listen and think "oh, that's me too." That recognition alone can crack something open. In a good way.
Research backs this up
People in peer support groups report feeling less alone (obvious, I know), but also less anxious, more able to cope, and more willing to seek help when they need it. It's not about fixing anything. It's about not carrying it solo.
Entrance is donation-based.
Anything you donate will be used to build a peer support platform we are co-creating together.
