Join joi for an evening of short films celebrating New York City, curated by filmmaker Ani Simon-Kennedy and presented by Lightning Society.Featuring animated, documentary, and narrative shorts that capture the city’s people, places, and stories from unique perspectives.
After the screening, we’ll open the floor for discussion and reflection.
Space is limited, so RSVP as soon as you can.

⏰ Doors open 7:00pm — screening starts 7:30pm
🎟️ Standard (non-member) tickets are a sliding scale donation of $11 - $25. All proceeds go to EVLovesNYC, a mutual aid organization providing food and support to New Yorkers in need since 2020.

ABOUT ANI
Ani Simon-Kennedy is a Paris-born filmmaker whose work builds new worlds and shifts perspectives. Her feature The Short History of the Long Road, starring Sabrina Carpenter and Danny Trejo, premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival and received a Special Mention for Best Screenplay. Supported by the Sundance Institute, Film Independent, and the Gotham, her films have screened at top festivals worldwide. She has also directed branded work for Allure, Glamour, The New Yorker, and Vice, and was named one of the Gotham's 2025 Series Creators to Watch.
