A Communal Table – Dumpling & More
This workshop is part of The Living Room — a FiDi Creatives project designed to cultivate slow living. A space dedicated to the pause, these curated experiences encourage a deeper connection both inward to the self and outward to the community.
About This Workshop
Gather around the table for an afternoon of folding, storytelling, and connection. More than a cooking class, this session is a communal celebration of the art of the dumpling. You will learn the mindful craft of rolling wrappers and folding various shapes by hand—sharing laughter and food memories as you go. The experience is designed to help you slow down and build meaningful bonds through the universal language of the kitchen.
The two-hour experience includes a light appetizer, a main course of the dumplings we fold together, and a seasonal dessert with tea to finish.
About the Instructor
Yi is a producer by day and a dough-loving creative by night. Inspired by her 97-year-old grandmother, she founded The Dumpling Circle to recreate the warmth of her childhood dining room. Growing up in a large family with relatives from across China, Yi learned early on that the table is the ultimate space for embracing diverse flavors, sharing stories, and fostering genuine community.
