Generation Environment: The Bird Walk
Note: While this event is full, we have another Bird + Nature Walk on Friday morning!
Calling all bird nerds and bird newbies: the fall migration waits for no panel.
The must-see event of Climate Week isn’t in a conference room. Nope, it’s happening high in the sky and in the treetops. In September, migratory birds will be en route to their warmer homes way down south, and Central Park is the hottest layover in town. The fall migration will be in full swing during Climate Week, and as planet-loving people, it’s basically sacrilege to miss the opportunity to cheer on these OG snowbirds as they hightail it out of town.
Join Generation Environment for a joyful morning walk, eyes to the sky. It’s a chance to reconnect with the natural world, and remember exactly what we’re here to protect.
Guided by the one and only Birding Bob, New York's infamous expert birder, we’ll wander through the city’s most famous park as we learn about different species of birds, and how they are impacted and what they can teach us about climate change.
You’ll leave with a smile and a new obsession with warblers. Everyone is welcome! Not sure if you’re birder-enough? You are! If you’ve ever watched a bird, congrats, you’re a birder! Join us.
