AIO-005: Feel the AGI
We were somewhere around Melbourne, on the edge of our weekly token limit, when the AI psychosis began to take hold.
Yes, another AI Ops — Melbourne Meetup event is upon us. An unholy gathering of developers, designers, marketers, founders and automation freaks.
For the first time ever, we've got two full length talks, including one from someone with "AI Ops" in their actual job title, which means this whole fake vibe-coded meetup is now dangerously close to becoming legitimate.
If you only make it to one AI Ops meetup this year, make it this one. This is not the night to miss and then wake up to some LinkedIn lunatic posting "still buzzing from last night" above a blurry photo of a slide, showing just enough sparks of AGI to make you comment "Oh damn, I missed it!" (for the third time this year).
I can only show you the door... you're the one who has to walk through it.
Agenda
5:30pm - 6:00pm: Doors open to our AI-pilled space at the Kogan offices.
6:00pm - 6:45pm: Meet and chat with fellow AI optimists (designers, developers, marketers, etc) over food and drinks while listening to gangsta rap.
6:45pm - 7:15pm: Talk #1 from Adam Brock (Founder of Hypermatic) on how he runs his one-person software startup using Codex, AI agents, and zero human employees.
7:15pm - 7:30pm: Short break between talks
7:30pm - 8:00pm: Talk #2 from Thomas Schwarz (AI Ops at BuildPass) on rethinking SaaS spend, build-vs-buy decisions, and what they're bringing in-house in the age of "Saaspocalypse."
8:00pm - 8:30pm: More time to chat to each other, then you can go home to check on your agents.

Is this meetup a joke?
Yes (the domain is https://aiops.lol).
Is this meetup real?
What is real? If you're talking about what you can feel, smell, taste and see, then real is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain. This is the world you know. You've been living in a dreamworld.
