About Event

We are building on earlier workshops where young people explored climate justice and identified key challenges. Now, we’re moving into action... and this next phase will take place fully online.

Youth for Climate Justice (Youth4CJ) brings together young people, academics and community organisations to explore climate justice and create change together.

In this phase, participants will work as co‑researchers, developing a youth‑led project that responds to the issues raised so far — moving from ideas to action through shared decision‑making and collaboration.

What’s involved?

  • 6 online sessions (6 pm – 8 pm)

  • Working together as a Co‑research group

  • Developing a youth‑led project

  • Using a £1,000 prototype fund to test your idea

  • Helping decide how a £4,500 project fund is used

What you will get?

  • £30 for each session you attend

  • £1,000 prototype fund to support your group’s idea

  • Experience in climate justice, organising and co‑research

  • Support from researchers and community partners

  • A chance to shape real community‑focused work

Who is the for?

  • People aged 18–35

  • Black and racialised young people

  • Anyone interested in climate justice, activism, community change or creative action

Session Dates (All Online, 6pm–8pm)

  • Tue 1st September — Session 4

What’s changed?

After the session in June, after listening to feedback and discussion, we updated the programme to make sure your time is recognised.

From 30th June onwards, all of those participating will receive £30 per session, and the £1,000 project budget will now support the prototype you design together.
