Personal AI & Always-On Agents | Waterloo Agentic Techtoberfest
Still managing every step, even with AI helping?
Explore what you could hand off to a personal AI agent that keeps working after you step away, and what it takes to make that useful.
See Grok Bot and OpenAI’s new Dot in action. The focus: practical handoffs, what runs in the background, what comes back, and where setup or human approval matters.
Alongside real examples, join guided discussion with the presenters: what worked, what still needed a person, and where these approaches could help in real life. Bring your questions into the conversation, then explore your own task or idea in smaller groups. The aim is to leave with a clearer next step and people you can keep learning with.
We’re keeping this gathering intentionally small so there’s room for your questions and time with the speakers. Reserve your place if you’d like to be part of those conversations.
🥨 Make an evening of it
Come for the demos, stay for the conversations over food. Beertown Waterloo is treating us to pretzels with mustard, with enough for everyone. We’ll also have their sausage-and-pear flatbread from the Oktoberfest menu to share, plus an assortment of German beer varieties, low-alcohol beer and non-alcoholic refreshments. It’s all included in your ticket.
🎉 Oktoberfest outfits welcome; come as you are. Lederhosen optional.
All experience levels welcome. Come solo or with a friend who registers too. No paid AI account needed. Watch, ask questions or explore alongside the speakers.

Thank you to our sponsor: Beertown Waterloo
Thank you to Andrew and the Beertown Waterloo team for helping bring our Techtoberfest evening together! I was already a fan of their pretzels, so I’m happy to introduce more of our local community to them.
Thank you to our sponsor: Block Three Brewing
Thank you to Scott and the Block Three team for supporting our Techtoberfest evening!
I stopped by for a Hollinger Helles and wanted to introduce more of our community to them. Their St. Jacobs taproom has beer brewed on-site, crokinole and board games, plus two patios for patio-weather days. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome inside the brewery and on its patios. You can order nearby pizza or sushi to your table, and there are non-alcoholic options too.
Bring a friend, settle in for a game, and pick up a favourite to take home.
