About Event

A small-group composting & harvesting experience in an outdoor garden plot

Come spend a late afternoon with us.

Together, we will tend to compost heaps, check out finished compost and life in the soil, and harvest edible leaves. Come see and feel the difference in soil where compost has been made, where the ground has been mulched, and where weedier plants have been allowed to grow.

Bring home some or all of what we harvest. Depending on what is available, we may have laksa leaves, sand ginger leaves, turmeric leaves, mint leaves and marsh pennywort.

The soil may be muddy. Come wearing your dive booties so that we tread lightly on the soil.

This is a small-group experience for 2–4 people who want to spend time outdoors, don't mind muddy feet and clothes, think it's cool to explore a little fern-like habitat under shade netting, and want to experience what it is like to care for a garden ecosystem.

No gardening experience is needed. Come curious and ready to participate. Gardening gloves, handheld garden tools, materials for composting, mini stools will be provided.

A minimum of 3 participants is required for the session to proceed.

The session can proceed in light rain, but will be cancelled if moderate to heavy rain is forecast within two hours of the start time.
