Post‑16 Connecting Families: Supporting Social Independence in Young People
Parents and carers of post‑16 young people – join us for an online session exploring social independence and peer relationships.
This session will explore ways to support young people with vision impairment to build healthy relationships, navigate social situations confidently, and make informed decisions while maintaining their safety and wellbeing.
We'll discuss practical strategies for supporting independence, understanding boundaries, and helping young people develop the skills and confidence to manage social situations both online and offline.
What we'll cover:
Understanding healthy relationships, friendships, and personal boundaries
Supporting young people to stay safe in social settings and online
Encouraging confidence, decision‑making, and healthy choices as independence grows
What to expect:
Practical guidance to support your young person's social independence and wellbeing
Opportunities to share experiences and learn from other families
A supportive space to ask questions
This session will take place online, and we’ll send you the Zoom details once you’ve registered for the event.
