SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE IN THE CITY!
Urban agriculture has been a steadfast solution for helping to resolve food insecurities in Washington, DC. On October 18th, WISE-DC will be visiting the Dreaming Out Loud - Kelly Miller Farm in Washington, DC for a tour and fireside chat with the Founder (Chris Bradshaw) to discuss the importance of urban agriculture, the impact of social investments for local farms, and transformative environmental investments and policies in DC.
This session will also include a fun interactive farm tour for our group! This session is also scheduled on a Saturday, and we welcome WISE members to bring family (spouses, children, etc) as well!

Chris Bradshaw is the Founder and Executive Director of Dreaming Out Loud Inc., a food justice social enterprise that seeks to create economic opportunities for the D.C. metro region’s marginalized communities through building a healthy, equitable food system. Bradshaw was named an Ashoka-American Express Emerging Innovator in 2015, one of Food Trust’s 20 Leaders Under 40, and is the longest-serving member of the D.C. Food Policy Council where he served as co-chair of the Urban Agriculture Working Group.
