The Upskilling Labs: Kick-off Meetup

​Something new is starting in the DMV.

​Out of the AI Upskilling Cohort—a pilot program with DC Public Library and the strategic design studio Levy—comes The Upskilling Labs, a civic-learning community built for the age of AI and emerging technology.

​This is our very first public gathering—and your chance to get in at the ground floor.

​The Upskilling Labs isn’t a class or a conference. It’s a community where learning is civic work: people from government, startups, and every walk of life coming together to experiment with new tools, share what they’re discovering, and help one another adapt to the future of work.

​Over the next 10 weeks we’ll prototype programs, explore what “upskilling” means in real life, and lay the groundwork for a new nonprofit that will carry this work forward.

​This is the starting line for something designed to last. By showing up now, you’re not just attending an event—you’re joining the founding network of a movement.

​You’ll be shaping a civic-learning community that’s already catching attention across the region and beginning to spread nationwide. You’ll connect with people tackling the same challenges you are, and you’ll help set the culture that will guide our first elections for leadership in early 2026.
