Over the past two years, China's AI models, including Kimi, MiniMax, and Qwen, now rank among the best in the world. Most developers in Seoul still meet that progress secondhand, through news, demo videos, and social media, with distance and time zones in the way.
Korea is one of the world's most active AI adopters and an important stop as China's open-source AI goes global. On October 2, Seoul gets a meetup built for that exchange. Experts from China's leading open-source model teams, vertical solution specialists from major tech companies, and a new generation of AI builders will meet Korean developers face to face and trade best practices in both directions.
Why China 🇨🇳 · The Front Line of Open-Source AI
Frontier models, open weights: Many of the world's top open-weight models come from China. In 2026, Kimi K3, Qwen3.8-Max, and DeepSeek V4 all launched with open weights. Each has more than a trillion parameters, and anyone can download, deploy, and build on them for free. Moonshot AI reports that Kimi K3 beat Claude Opus 4.8 and GPT 5.5 on coding and agent benchmarks. Frontier-level model capability now sits in developers' own hands.
Fast releases, low prices: MiniMax M3's output pricing is about one-twentieth of Claude Opus 4.8's. Chinese teams ship new versions every few weeks, at a fraction of the price of closed US models. For high-volume apps like game NPCs and entertainment, the same budget goes much further.
From models to products to the physical world: At WAIC 2026, more than 1,100 companies exhibited and 300+ products made their global debut. Chinese teams build the models and the products people use every day: AI assistants like Kimi and Doubao, AI video tools like Hailuo, and coding and workplace agents moving into enterprise workflows. Off the screen, humanoid robots from companies like Unitree are going from showcase demos to mass production.

About The Arch
The Arch is a three-week immersive program in China's technology and innovation ecosystem, co-hosted by PROPELLER. From November 1 to 21, 2026, it travels across Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, and Shenzhen, visiting 50+ companies and institutions and speaking with 60+ guests.
The team behind The Arch has spent six years in China's open-source and AI ecosystem. Past initiatives include China's largest open-source market and the inaugural Tech PodFest. The team also runs an international open-source community founded by AI builders, which reaches nearly 100,000 people across Chinese-language platforms. Its long-term ties include Startup Grind, 100+ open-source communities, and 80+ incubators and accelerators worldwide.

The Arch 소개
The Arch는 PROPELLER와 공동 주최하는 3주간의 중국 기술·혁신 생태계 몰입형 프로그램입니다. 2026년 11월 1일부터 21일까지 상하이, 베이징, 항저우, 선전을 방문하며, 50개 이상의 기업 및 기관을 탐방하고 60명 이상의 게스트와 교류합니다.
The Arch를 운영하는 팀은 지난 6년간 중국의 오픈소스 및 AI 생태계에서 활동해 왔습니다. 주요 프로젝트로는 중국 최대 규모의 오픈소스 마켓과 최초의 Tech PodFest가 있습니다. 또한 AI 빌더들이 설립한 국제 오픈소스 커뮤니티를 운영하고 있으며, 중국어권 플랫폼을 통해 약 10만 명에게 도달하고 있습니다. Startup Grind, 100개 이상의 오픈소스 커뮤니티, 전 세계 80개 이상의 인큐베이터 및 액셀러레이터와도 장기적인 네트워크를 구축하고 있습니다.
Aomi Labs 소개
Aomi Labs는 온체인 금융을 위한 실행 인프라, 즉 “크립토 에이전트를 위한 Vercel”을 구축하고 있습니다. 서버리스 런타임을 통해 사용자의 의도를 정책 검증 및 시뮬레이션을 거친 트랜잭션으로 변환한 뒤, 최종 승인을 위해 사용자의 지갑으로 다시 전달합니다.
이를 통해 AI 에이전트는 각 팀이 별도의 트랜잭션 처리, 시뮬레이션, 커스터디 파이프라인을 직접 구축하지 않고도 복잡한 스마트 컨트랙트 상호작용과 온체인 자동화를 수행할 수 있습니다. 비수탁형(non-custodial)이며 지갑에 종속되지 않는(wallet-agnostic) 플랫폼으로, 트레이더, 자산운용사, 지갑 서비스 제공업체를 대상으로 하며 일반적으로 수개월이 걸리던 개발 기간을 수일 수준으로 단축합니다.
