Build Afternoon: Build with AWS Kiro CLI
Organized by: AWS User Group Cebu, in partnership with Kuehne + Nagel (K+N) and the Cebu Java User Group (CJUG)
Tech is a continuous journey, and the best way to solidify our knowledge is by building something real. Join us for "Build Afternoon: Build with AWS Kiro," a collaborative workshop dedicated to hands-on exploration and technical upskilling.
Moving away from one-directional presentations, this session returns to the roots of a developer meetup. We are creating an environment where knowledge exchange occurs naturally through facilitated, collaborative building. Our goal is simple: to help you develop a functional application in under two hours.
What to Expect:
Hands-On Building: We will dive straight into the Kiro CLI to build simple, impactful applications. Whether you are aiming to streamline a task or solve a specific pain point, you will walk away with a project you built yourself.
Prompt Engineering & Coaching: New to the ecosystem? Our facilitators will be on-site to coach you on effective prompting and how to clearly express your technical intent to the Kiro CLI, helping you translate your thoughts into working code.
Tiered Assistance Model: Whether you need Guided Support to get started or prefer Self-Directed Collaboration to explore advanced implementations, our format ensures you receive the level of assistance you need.
Community Knowledge Exchange: With experts from AWSUG Cebu, K+N, and CJUG, you’ll have a wealth of peers to troubleshoot, share insights, and discuss architectural approaches with.
Agenda:
Introduction & Ice Breaker: Connecting with fellow builders.
Industry Spotlight: A brief talk from our partners at Kuehne + Nagel.
Installation & Prompt Coaching: Setting up the environment and learning to communicate effectively with the CLI.
Collaborative Build Session: Two hours of focused, project-based development.
Group Sharing: Presenting our outputs and providing peer feedback on our builds.
Who Should Attend:
This workshop is for students, developers, and tech practitioners who value active participation. If you believe in "learning by doing" and want to turn your ideas into a functional build in a single afternoon, this session is for you.
Requirements: Please bring your laptop and a readiness to build.
