Effective Retrospectives
It's nearly the end of the year. When's the last time your team got together and reflected on their accomplishments? Do you know what you need to do next year to improve?
Software teams have been using the Retrospective (retro) meeting format for decades to drive continuous improvement in their process, but retros are valuable for everyone! They give you an explicit opportunity for reflection and improvement. They allow the team to decompress during and after difficult projects. And they give you a chance to process both wins and losses.
In this 2 hour session, we'll develop your knowledge and skills to run great retrospectives for your team. I'll walk you through the retro fundamentals: What/Why/Who/When, show you a few different retro formats, how to set up the room (IRL or virtual), and set you loose to try out some different retro styles.
When we're done, you'll know who should be in your retro, how often you should do it, how to lead it, and how to follow up so your team can make improvements.
