Investing in Nature: An Allocation Game
Brainforest present their new report, "Capital for Nature: The Hidden Rules of Funding Pre-Seed & Seed Nature Startups." The event targets investors and foundations interested in nature and biodiversity finance.
The centrepiece is The Biodiversity Allocation Game, a 45-minute interactive workshop where participants receive a hypothetical €10M budget and must allocate it across four biodiversity investment buckets: Data & MRV (measurement tech), Avoided Loss (supply chain/compliance), Restoration (nature-based projects), and Finance Rails (blended finance, insurance, outcomes payments).
This side event to Hack Summit is open to all of the participants who want to dive into complexity and experience the trade-offs in biodiversity investing: risk, time-to-impact, evidence quality, additionality.
After a short intro, we'll go into workshop mode, trying to build a portfolio balancing strong impact in biodiversity conservation and financial returns.
