About Event

In 2041, something precious has to cross a broken bridge. It is too heavy for any one person to carry, and the gap in the middle is too wide for anyone to cross alone. So it moves the only way it can. Hand to hand. Each person carries it as far as they can, then has to let go and trust the next set of hands to be there.

That is the mission. Get the thing across. Simple to say. The whole game is in the letting go.

This is a live game, not a workshop. We gather on Zoom, around a virtual fire, and we play it out together, in character, out loud. You will be cast, sometimes in the part you would not have picked for yourself, because that is where it gets interesting. You do not have to be an actor. You do not have to believe in anything. You do not even have to turn your camera on. You just step in and play.

Nobody explains the meaning to you. You feel what the bridge is made of by being on it, and you leave having practiced something you almost never get to practice, which is letting go of the thing you are gripping and trusting that someone will be there to take it.

The technique is on loan from the Blind Seers of 2041, who in hte future use storytelling to bend reality. You do not need to know their world to use their tools.

Ninety minutes. Seventeen dollars. One crew, one crossing. You will be surprised where the bridge takes you.

If you want to see a full recorded game first, you can find iton at theaterofme.com
