Industry Workshop: Safely Running AI-Generated Code
Have you ever wondered how to let an AI write and run code without risking your computer's security? How can developers safely test untrusted AI code directly inside their internet browser?
Join the Leeds AI Society for an interactive workshop by Leaning Technologies on safely executing AI-generated code. We will look at how to securely contain this code in a "sandbox," ensuring it runs without affecting your wider system.
We will start with the theory to help you understand the core concepts, and then move into a hands-on coding session to see these ideas in action.
What to expect:
The Fundamentals: The theory behind the "browser sandbox" and WebAssembly.
Live Practical Session: A hands-on activity. You will learn how to register for an API key, download the project files to your computer, and run a "browser sandbox".
Coding with an AI Assistant: Learn how to instruct an AI "agent" to modify your code and run within a sandbox. You will see how to give it prompts and use documentation to help the AI fill in the blanks.
Custom Showcase: Put what you have learnt into practice by tweaking the code yourself, with a chance to share your results with fellow attendees at the end of the session.
Who is this for?
Anyone curious about building secure AI applications. Whether you are an AI enthusiast, a curious student from any discipline at the University of Leeds, or an aspiring software engineer, you will leave with a solid understanding of these modern tools.
What to bring:
Please bring a laptop and a charger so you can follow along with the interactive code examples.
Don't miss this chance to look under the hood of secure AI and make industry connections. We look forward to seeing you there!
This event is open to university students (free to attend)
