sir, this is a wendy's hobby hop 3
What is "wendy's hobby hop"?
Come celebrate the world of hobbies and explore new passions with us! ✨ This is a place where you can try out different activities, meet new people, and engage with the incredible hobbies happening right here in our community. 😌
Hobby hop is back this time with an actual hop! You have the chance to hop to two different workshops during the event time, if that's the fun you're looking for. 🥳
By joining us, you're not just attending an event, you're supporting our mission to keep our hobbies accessible and engaging for everyone. 🙌
What We Have to Offer?

Activity Details & Host Bios
90s kid summer camp with Sabrina
Remember beaded lizards and g*mp? (we're not allowed to say that word in 2026, we'll be calling it boondoggle or plastic lace moving forward)
Relive your childhood dream of being thoroughly entertained at summer camp and make some beaded lizards and boondoggle with me (certified camp counselor for 10 years)! We will start with beaded lizards (or if you don't like lizards, other options can be provided) and if you finish early, there will be instructions to make boondoggle!
Host Bio: Sabrina (@sabsstitches) is a Toronto local who loves to crochet, eat good food, and collect hobbies. During the day, she works in child and youth mental health (sometimes teaching crochet!) and is otherwise found crafting or creating in some way, shape, or form. In a past life, Sabrina was a camp counselor, passing on the Ancient Texts (boondoggle and the cool 'S') onto the future generations.
Felt Plushies with Jasper
Learn the basics of how to make your own felt plush and take home your own creation once you're done! We'll be working with hot glue to keep it beginner friendly. I will guide you through designing the pattern, assembly, and detailing.
Host Bio: Hello there! I'm Jasper, I've been an art teacher for 3 years and had been teaching various workshops for 2! I love felt art because it's accessible and rewarding, so if you'd like to pick up a slow, low energy craft, come join me!
Origami 101 with Ansh
With the holiday season around the corner, come spend an afternoon learning some simple origami patterns, and take home a paper gift boxes, handmade by you, to gift your family or loved ones!
Host Bio: Hi! My name is Ansh and I am a big origami enthusiast! I have been doing origami since I was 10 and love making different objects with paper. With this workshop, I hope you can learn to make beautiful little gift boxes and gift them to your family or friends.
Crafting a Turtle Macrame Key Chain with Verena
Participants will learn how to connect separate macrame pieces together and use 2 types of knots the double half hitch knot and square knot to create their very own turtle key chain.
The workshop will go with a step by step process, in which I will show how to do a section and let participants complete the section before moving to the next steps.
The key rings, yarn which have been already cut to the appropriate length and other material needed for the keychain will be provided. No experience in macrame is needed for this hobby workshop.
Host Bio: I recently graduated from undergrad in life sciences and am passionate about singing and art & crafts. I am happy to go for karaoke and enjoy making small crafts. These crafts include macrame keychains, pottery, origami, and basic knitting projects.
