Connecting Families Secondary Years: Peer Relationships and Anti‑Bullying
Connecting Families Secondary Years: Peer Relationships and Anti‑Bullying
Parents and carers of secondary school‑aged children – join us for an online session exploring friendships, peer relationships, and bullying, in recognition of Anti‑Bullying Week (16–20 November).
This year's Anti‑Bullying Week theme is "Break the Silence". It encourages children, young people, and adults across the UK to start conversations about bullying, speak up, listen and take action together.
During this session, we'll discuss how to support young people to build healthy peer relationships, understand the qualities of a good friend, and recognise unhealthy friendships. We'll also explore RSBC's peer support opportunities available for young people with vision impairments.
What we'll cover:
Building healthy friendships and positive peer relationships
Understanding what makes a good friend
Recognising and responding to unhealthy friendships
Encouraging young people to speak up and seek support
Peer support groups and opportunities available for young people
What to expect:
Practical guidance to support your child's social wellbeing
A supportive space to share experiences and learn from other families
Information about peer support opportunities for young people
This session will take place online, and we’ll send you the Zoom details once you’ve registered for the event.
