Songs of Arboreal Kin: An Eco Musical Theater Workshop with Gelsey Bell
Dive into the music of mɔɹnɪŋ [morning//mourning] with a workshop to sing a group version of "Bristlecone Pines," a song about trees with long lifespans. The song imagines a thriving possible future for some of the planet's most ancient beings, illustrating the power of stories with non-human protagonists. The acapella five-part song includes harmony singing, vocal soundscape, and a round. We will then sing the song in the culminating evening performance a couple hours later.
Capacity for workshop is capped at 15 people.
This workshop is part of the inaugural Broadway Climate Summit, a one-day summit in NYC, bringing together theater professionals and climate advocates to reimagine an industry that prioritizes sustainability, climate storytelling, and theater as a cultural movement for our planet.
