Evidence, Decisions, and the Quiet Loss of the Public Square

​The August session on subsidiarity said some decisions should sit close to those affected. This session asks what evidence that decision-making actually runs on. We work DP14 (Trust & Transparency) plus DP22 and DP18 (Feedback Loops & Reputation) to map how a community's evidentiary base is constructed, contested, and corrupted — and how AI mediation can quietly substitute plausible-sounding consensus for accountable record. Participants run a 30-minute tabletop exercise: a town council is using AI-assisted summaries in deliberation. Breakouts argue different roles — librarian, councilmember, journalist, vendor — and we close by listing the 3-5 properties that decision was actually relying on (and which the DP list does and doesn't yet name).
