The Cloud Network Callout: Build Your Own Cloud
What if you ran the cloud yourself?
Saturday, Sept 5th, 2026 • 6:00–7:00 PM Eastern Purdue University • Exact room to be announced soon
The Cloud Network is a Purdue student organization for anyone interested in learning how servers, networks, websites, self-hosting, and internet infrastructure actually work.
We learn by building real things.
You do not need a server rack. You do not need to be a computer science major. You do not need previous experience.
You just need curiosity.
At our callout, you will learn:
What homelabbing actually means
What The Cloud Network plans to build this semester
How an old laptop can become a useful server
How members can explore Linux, networking, websites, Docker, domains, DNS, storage, and self-hosting
How complete beginners can get started
How experienced builders can contribute to shared projects
Whether you have never opened a terminal or already have a server rack, there is a place for you here.
Beginners welcome. Curiosity required.
Don’t just use the cloud. Learn how to build it.
