LOCAL HACK | Copernicus Berlin x AMD
Copernicus Berlin × AMD
At Copernicus Berlin, our AI and digital training courses bring people together in different countries. Now we're coming together in Berlin with AMD, and we'd love you to join us for Local Hack for Local AI!
Come build an AI app that runs on your own device, meet other people interested in AI and compete for prizes. Choose one of our project ideas or bring an idea you've been wanting to try.
The Challenge
Local AI is changing the way we use artificial intelligence. In the coming years, more and more devices will be powerful enough to run AI models directly, without relying on cloud servers. That means faster responses, better privacy, and AI that works even without an internet connection.
AMD's latest processors and dedicated Neural Processing Units (NPUs) are already making this possible. Now it's your chance to build software for this new generation of AI-powered devices.
Think of an app that helps people study, works with images, automates everyday tasks, or solves a problem you care about. We encourage you to explore AMD's Lemonade to run AI models locally and GAIA to build agents that can use tools and take action.
You'll have six hours to turn your idea into a working prototype. Then you'll present it to the judges and compete for nice tech prizes!
AMD workshop
Come early for a workshop from our friends at AMD and an introduction to the tasks! You'll see local AI models and agents in action, learn how they run on AMD NPUs and explore how to use them on other hardware. The session will help you get started with your own project.
This event is open to students and developers with some coding experience. If you're new to AI, you're also welcome to join and learn as you build.
Event Schedule
Join us for a full day of workshops, hands-on hacking, and presentations. Here's what to expect:
10:00 - Doors open and check-in
10:30–11:30 - AMD workshop
11:30–12:00 - Coffee break, networking and team formation
12:00–18:00 - Hacking session
18:00–19:00 - Project presentations and judging
19:00–20:00 - Awards ceremony and closing
Why Join?
Spend a day building something exciting with amazing people, exploring the future of local AI, and having fun along the way! You'll receive a participation NFT on a real blockchain, a certificate recognising your work, exclusive AMD goodies, and even some cute AMD cupcakes! You'll also have the chance to present your project to the judges and compete for valuable prizes!
Participation is completely free, and it's a great opportunity to meet other developers, share ideas, and build something together.
Teams should consist of 3–4 people. Don't have a team yet? No problem! We'll have a dedicated web app for hackathon participants to meet each other, find teammates, and form teams before the event.
See you on December 11th!
