Meaning-Ism Crew
Do you find yourself often questioning the meaning of life, the world, and everything? Join fellow Commoners who can't help but stare into the void! We'll get together to share texts in philosophy, theology, and literature which explore questions of meaning and morality, seeking to answer core questions like:
- How do we shape our actions to be meaningful- not just today, but in two years or five decades?
- As the world changes around us, what happens to our sense of meaning?
- In a world of individualism, social media, and fragmented world views media echo chambers, can there be anchors to meaning or ethics?
This group is built off the winter/spring cohort class on meaning-ism, where we found discussions most effective when we have shared common texts to discuss together (articles, poems, sections of books). Bring your favorite meaning-ful text, and expect to spend about 1 hour reading ahead of sessions when you're preparing.
