Beginner Chess Class

​Join Alex on Zoom for a beginner-friendly chess class designed for kids ages 5–14. We'll learn the names of the pieces, how each one moves, how to set up the board, and a few simple rules through short games and playful drills—no experience required. Through a series of classes we will share resources on where to buy books, boards, and register for tournaments.

​​Bring a chess set if you have one (or a printed/drawn board and some tokens), a comfy seat, and a curious brain. Parents are welcome to hang nearby. Expect lively instruction, plenty of hands-on practice, and a few friendly challenges to help new players gain confidence and have a great time.
