Earth Day @ Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship
Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship invites you to their Earth Day Celebration — and a look at what happens when students run a real circular economy.
PHCSE students are using the ZEUS biodigester to convert cafeteria food scraps into Soil Sauce, a nutrient-rich liquid fertilizer that feeds the school gardens. The gardens grow produce. The students earn Community Credits (C¢) through involveMINT for their work — credits they can spend with local businesses across the network.
What you'll see:
The ZEUS biodigester in action (built by Ecotone Renewables)
School gardens and food forest growing with student-made fertilizer
Heartcore — the student enterprise behind it all
How Community Credits connect school sustainability to the local economy
This project is part of involveMINT's PHCSE Food Learning ECOconomy, supported by a Remake Learning Moonshot Grant.
Whether you're a neighbor, educator, parent, or local business owner curious about community credit exchange — come through.
