soft cache press Launches: Curio !

​Please join us for the official launch of new publishing project soft cache press — and the release of our inaugural book: Curio!

​soft cache press is a new independent and experimental publishing project finding a way towards kinship and collaboration in artist books (@softcachepress).

​Curio, our first book, includes photography and design by Ethan Lan, and narrativizes the rapidly changing landscape of New York's Chinatown, spliced with archival imagery from the renowned Chinatown-based artist group Godzilla.

​In the spirit of kinship, we are also very delighted to be hosting with our friends at Secret Riso Club, and to have food by biman.

​Ethan Lan was born in Denver, Colorado to Taiwanese immigrant parents and currently resides in New York City. He is a primarily lens-based artist venturing into printmaking and bookmaking. He explores moments of transition and care in people, places, and communities through photography, touching on themes of cultural identity, family, trauma, and justice. Lan's work resides in the permanent collections of the New York Public Library, New York University, Asia Art Archive in America, and more.
