Community Potluck + Decolonizing Money with Julio Linares

​Julio Linares is an economic anthropologist from Guatemala who studied with the late David Graeber and does outreach for the Basic Income Earth Network; he's in New York this week for his new book, "Decolonizing Money: The Promise of Abolishing the US Dollar". It argues the dollar and the carbon economy are one machine — oil priced in dollars, enforced by the largest institutional fossil fuel consumer on Earth — and that abolishing it means cancelled debts and a worldwide basic income.

​The communal computational space (vibecoderoom.ai) is open all night : an ambient room that listens to the conversation , lets you plant idea trees in a virtual Central Park , and helps yu biuld running apps projected on the walls as they form. Conversation in, working software/research/art out — no laptop required. It's also how Decentral Park projects (mutual aid software, food rescue optimization, and other experiments) get built, so anything you argue into being in that room can end up as a contribution to what the collective is shipping. Talk at it, poke the thing on the wall, tell it it's wrong, and help improve it (still a wip!).
