The Weekly Change by We Are Changemakers with Chloé Zimmermann - Regenerative Architcture
Chloé Zimmermann is a French architect and Certified Sustainability Manager based between Vienna and Bangalore, with over a decade bridging low-carbon design and systemic rural transformation across Europe and India. She co-founded the India-Europe collective The Agami Project, selected from over 5,000 entries to receive the Holcim Award for Sustainable Construction 2025 for a community health centre in Bangalore.
Her current focus is Villages of Opportunity, a farmer-owned cooperative model in Karnataka integrating agroforestry, eco-construction, and community energy into a single locally governed system. Central to it is restoring existing mud houses, proving this is the most democratic, cost-effective and thermally sound path forward, using bio-based materials produced by women and making female empowerment structural rather than symbolic while agroforestry restores nature and sustainable livelihoods.
Chloé believes real change lives in process, lifecycle thinking, and respecting the pace of genuine transformation. She is seeking partners who share that sensibility.
