GRABLA
The Graduate Research in Applied Biosciences & Life Sciences, Africa (GRABLA) Fellowship is an intensive 8-week training program organized by Toplaholo Biogen to equip students, graduates, and early-career researchers across Africa with cutting-edge computational and data science skills for modern bioscience research and innovation.
This fellowship focuses on bridging the gap between biological sciences and computational technologies by providing practical training in bioinformatics, computational drug discovery, immunoinformatics, pharmacoinformatics, cheminformatics, and drug modeling. Participants will gain hands-on exposure to real-world tools, methodologies, and research approaches used in biotechnology, pharmaceutical research, and precision medicine.
GRABLA was created with a vision to train over 100,000 bioscience and life science talents across Africa within four years, empowering the next generation of scientists to contribute meaningfully to healthcare innovation, drug discovery, genomics, and translational research.
Through expert-led sessions, collaborative learning, and project-based training, fellows will develop practical skills in:
• Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD)
• Bioinformatics and Genomic Data Analysis
• Drug Modeling and Molecular Interaction Analysis
• Immunoinformatics and Computational Immunology
• Pharmacoinformatics and ADMET Prediction
• Cheminformatics and Chemical Data Analysis
• Research Data Science and Scientific Computing
Program Details:
• Duration: 8 Weeks
• Schedule: Fridays & Saturdays
• Time: 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM (WAT)
• Start Date: June 5, 2025
• End Date: August 1, 2025
Who Should Apply?
The fellowship is open to:
• Undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Graduates in life sciences and related disciplines
• Aspiring bioinformaticians and computational biologists
