๐ฅ Ops Club Sessions: The Art of the Possible with AI (for Hospitality)
โThis one is for the people who never make time for this.
โAI comes up in every board meeting, every conference, nearly every conversation. You nod along. You know you should have your hands on it properly by now. The day job always wins.
โThis is a half day to fix that, in a room of people in exactly the same boat.
โWho's in the room
โC-suite, MDs, directors, founders and owners from across hospitality. Small room, deliberately senior. Everyone has a real business and real data behind them. Chatham House rules.
โWhat this isn't
โIt's not a pitch. Nobody's selling you a tech stack, showing a product, auditing your systems or booking a follow-up call.
โThe shape of the afternoon
โ13:00 - Lunch and networking
โ13:30 - Welcome, then Matt Grimshaw (Youda) sets the scene. What's changed since March, why most of us are still using AI as a fancy spellcheck, and where the real shift is. Gregers Sander (Monotree) closes the opener with five minutes on how a tech company went from AI sceptic to automation-first.
โ14:00 - Three sessions, in rotation. You'll be in a group of around ten and see all three. Every session is hands-on where it can be - real things on real screens, not slides about them:
โWorkflows and automations - Matt Grimshaw, Youda. What happens when two or three of your systems talk to each other and an agent does the tedious bit. You'll get your own test account and deploy an agent. Live.
โData and dashboards - Gregers Sander, Monotree. From scattered data to one source of truth, and a live dashboard built on POS, scheduling and Monotree data in front of you - with triggers, and the loop closed back into the system.
โBuild it yourself - Steve Cownie, Ops Director at Chance & Counters. How you go from a chat window to a real tool that lives longer than the chat: a proper first project, Claude Code, and how to put it somewhere it can live. Follow along on your own laptop.
โShort moves between sessions, with coffee and something sweet on the second one.
โ16:25 - Matt opens the close: the skills senior leaders will need. Not just for the next two years, but to secure your next role and the one after that. Drinks in hand, and the whole room joins in.
โ17:00 - Drinks and networking
โ17:30 - Close
โWhat you'll leave with
โA first-hand look at what's actually possible now. The real thing on a screen, not slides about it.
โA clear view of where the bottleneck really is (usually your data, not the AI).
โA room of senior peers who've just seen the same things.
โBetter questions for everyone who is trying to sell you something.
โThe details
โยฃ75 - includes lunch, a sweet treat, tea and coffee all afternoon and a drink at the end.
โBring a laptop and your phone if you can - you'll want both for the hands-on sessions. If you can, install the Claude desktop app and make an account before the day.
โOne honest note: the room is curated, so registrations are approved to keep the mix right. If this one's not the right fit, we'll say so nicely and keep you in mind for the next.
โYou don't need to know how to code. Just a bit of curiosity.
