​🎯 Focus Areas

​AI Tutors — Build on KIVA
We will use KIVA, an open source AI tutoring platform, as the starting point. Teams will evaluate how it performs in real scenarios, analyzing tutor behavior, logs, and educator interaction to identify strengths, breakdowns, and where human judgment matters. Based on this, you will prototype improvements such as feedback and assessment flows, personalization, intervention checkpoints, analytics, safety layers, or educator facing controls

​Learning Path Engines
Build a system that takes a learning goal and generates a personalized, structured pathway. Projects should sequence real content such as papers or courses, adapt to the learner’s background, and go beyond static lists

​Future of Education Systems
Build tools, systems, or new learning experiences that push education forward, from educator tools to entirely new models of learning
