Portuguese premiere, followed by a virtual Q&A session with Lena Hartog, climate activist, writer and co-producer of the documentary.
The much-talked-about documentary The Cost of Growth, now premiering across Europe, challenges Europe’s growth story by exposing the extractive systems it relies on and the communities that pay the price.
With an international cast, the film (90 minutes) connects struggles in Serbia, Italy, and Sápmi to wider fights for justice, showing how communities resist extraction, build solidarities, and expose the violence behind Europe’s economy.
Language: English and Dutch, with Portuguese subtitles.

Estreia em Portugal, seguida de uma sessão de perguntas e respostas por videochamada com Lena Hartog, ativista climática, escritora e co-produtora do documentário.
O documentário The Cost of Growth, agora em exibição por toda a Europa, questiona a narrativa do crescimento económico e expõe os sistemas de exploração e expropriação de recursos naturais e de comunidades locais dos quais o sistema depende.
O filme estabelece uma ligação entre as lutas na Sérvia, na Itália e no Sápmi e as lutas mais alargadas pela justiça social e ambiental mostrando como as comunidades resistem à exploração de recursos, constroem solidariedade e denunciam a violência subjacente à economia europeia.
