​In this conversation centered on the human figure and social structure, artist Dai Yinglun reflects on how ink painting becomes a site for constructing contemporary group narratives. Beginning from personal experience, his practice extends toward an ongoing observation of collective behavior and psychological complexity.

​Growing up within a relatively fixed social environment shaped his human-centered mode of seeing. In his works, everyday scenes unfold as microcosms of broader social mechanisms. Multiple layers of consciousness overlap within single figures, generating subtle psychological drama. Through the careful orchestration of large-scale compositions, Dai transforms the narrative logic of traditional figure painting into a readable social landscape, reactivating the narrative potential of ink within a post-contemporary context.
