About Event
How do the stories we grew up with shape who we are as global citizens? In this gallery-style event, students in UHON 301-014 will share visual maps of their cultural identities and global experiences, paired with two children’s books that connect to their stories. Visitors can move around the room, talk with students, and look through picturebooks representing different communities and experiences around the world. Through these conversations, we hope to think together about how our personal histories, languages, cultures, and places shape how we see ourselves and others, and how children’s literature can open up these conversations. Everyone is welcome, and no background in children’s literature is needed.
