Africa Cross-Border Payments: A Reality Check from the Ground 非洲跨境支付：机会、落地与真实挑战

​Waka is a Singapore-based payments company with its team and operations rooted in Africa.

​This August, our co-founders are travelling to Shenzhen to host a small, in-person conversation about the realities of Africa’s cross-border payments market—what opportunities are already real, what remains misunderstood, and what it actually takes to operate on the ground.

​The session will be led by April Long, Co-founder and CEO of Waka. Before founding Waka, April worked at Standard Chartered Bank in Africa, Gulf African Bank—an IFC-invested bank, and VC backed African payment startups.

​We hope to meet payment professionals, founders, investors and potential partners who are genuinely interested in Africa and emerging markets.
