About Event

AI models are getting better, but choosing the right model is still not simple.

Sometimes a model is smart, but too expensive. Sometimes it is fast, but the answer is not good enough. Sometimes it supports long context, but still fails because the prompt is unclear. Sometimes we use the strongest model for a simple task, even though a cheaper model is already enough.

In this UCloud Workshop Jakarta, we will learn how to compare and use AI models in a practical way for developer workflows.

This is not only a talk about benchmarks. We will compare models using real developer tasks, then discuss how to decide which model fits each task based on cost, speed, context, prompt quality, and output quality.

We will also show how AI can support the software development lifecycle, from brainstorming ideas, writing documentation, planning implementation, generating code, reviewing output, debugging, and improving the next iteration.

We will explore practical factors when choosing AI models, such as:

  • Cost

  • Token per second

  • Context length

  • Prompt quality

  • Output quality

  • Use case fit

  • Daily workflow fit

The goal is not to find one “best model” for everything. The goal is to understand how to choose the right model for the right job.

We will compare models such as GLM 5.2, GPT 5.5, Opus 4.8, and other relevant models using practical developer use cases.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to compare AI models beyond benchmark scores

  • How cost, speed, context, and prompts affect AI output

  • How to choose the right model for different developer tasks

  • How to test multiple models using the same prompt and task

  • How to evaluate output quality in a practical way

  • How to turn rough ideas or docs into an implementation plan

  • How to use AI for brainstorming, documentation, planning, coding, and debugging

  • How to use AI more efficiently without always relying on the most expensive model

Prerequisites

  • This workshop is recommended for engineers, developers, technical builders, and people who work closely with software development

  • Basic familiarity with AI chat tools or AI coding tools

  • Basic comfort using an IDE such as VSCode, Cursor, or similar tools

  • Laptop is mandatory because there will be hands-on sections

AI Model Comparison and Practical Developer Workflow

In this main workshop session, we will discuss how to choose and use AI models for real developer work.

We will start by comparing different AI models using the same practical tasks, such as summarizing technical context, creating an implementation plan, generating code, improving prompts, and reviewing output quality.

We will evaluate each model based on:

  • Cost

  • Speed

  • Context handling

  • Prompt sensitivity

  • Output quality

  • Use case fit

After that, we will continue into a hands-on workflow: how to use AI from rough idea or requirement, into documentation, planning, coding, review, debugging, and iteration.

The practical flow will cover:

  1. Clarify the idea or requirement

  2. Turn it into structured documentation

  3. Break it down into an implementation plan

  4. Choose the right model for the task

  5. Generate coding prompts

  6. Review and debug the output

  7. Improve the result through iteration

The focus is not only “which model is best,” but how to use the right model at the right step of the engineering workflow.

Participants should bring their laptops because this session includes live demo and hands-on practice.

Notes

Please bring your laptop. The workshop includes hands-on sections, and you will get more value if you can follow the workflow directly.

Hosted by AstraFlow, a MaaS platform powered by UCloud Global.

Pizza Hut and drinks will be provided.
