Phone Free Friday
Lock your phone away and join us for two hours of actual, real-life human existence at CIC Berlin! The first hour is all about sweet, silent solitude: bring a book, sketch, journal, or just stare into space without anyone asking "whatcha thinking about?" No awkward small talk required.
After we've all remembered what it feels like to exist without notifications, we'll ease into the second hour with some low-key hangouts. Think cozy conversations, maybe some snacks, definitely zero pressure to perform or network. We offer simple conversation prompts for those who feel like connecting. You can share with the person next to you, or stay silent and keep the space for yourself. Both are equally welcome.
Romi and Leonie are hosting this experiment in being present, and honestly? We could all use a break from our screens. Show up however you're feeling; pajama-adjacent outfits totally acceptable. This is not another event to keep up with. It is time off from the noise.
Newest studies show that constant phone use changes how our brains function. We get so used to nonstop stimulation, our nervous systems stay activated, and our ability to rest, focus, and feel connected drops.
