Cybersecurity has traditionally relied on mathematical assumptions, cryptographic keys, and trust in hardware. As critical infrastructure becomes increasingly distributed across satellites, drones, autonomous systems, and remote sensing networks, the challenge of proving that these devices have not been compromised is becoming more urgent.
Quantum Lock is taking a different approach. Emerging from research at UNSW, the company is developing technology that leverages quantum entanglement to provide physics-based proof of the integrity of remote devices. By combining advances in quantum communications with cybersecurity, Quantum Lock is creating a new category of security technology with applications across defence, aerospace, critical infrastructure, and beyond.

About
Dr Jesse Laeuchli
Dr Jesse Laeuchli is the Founder and CTO of Quantum Lock, a UNSW spinout applying quantum mechanics to cybersecurity. He completed his PhD at the College of William and Mary, working on Lattice Quantum Chromodynamics simulations, before serving within both the NSA and CIA. Following his move to Australia and appointment as a Senior Lecturer at UNSW, he developed the inventions that form the foundation of Quantum Lock's technology.

Quantum Lock is developing quantum-secured remote attestation technology that uses entangled photons to prove the integrity of remote devices. The company is creating a new layer of cybersecurity for satellites, drones, aircraft, and other remote platforms where conventional trust models are increasingly challenged.
