SYNOPTICFEED at the Stevens Innovation Expo
Akbar and Azhar Pathan are showcasing SynopticFeed at the Stevens Innovation Expo. We built satellite receivers that pull weather data from space and sell it to energy traders, a $500+ billion-a-year market. Come say hi.
Friday, May 8. My brother Azhar and I will be at the Stevens Innovation Expo in Hoboken, New Jersey, showing off a year of work on SynopticFeed.
The short version: we built satellite receivers that pull weather data straight from space and sell it to energy traders. Energy is a $500+ billion-a-year market, and it moves on weather. A few minutes of early warning is worth real money. Nearly 20 energy companies have already signed up for our product.
The Expo is Stevens' biggest day of the year. Hundreds of senior projects on display, plus faculty talks, a robot competition, a concert outside, and an entrepreneurship pitch final at the end. Free and open to the public.
Timing:
Booth hours: 9:30 to 11 a.m., then again 1 to 3 p.m.
Welcome address and lecture: 11 a.m. to noon
Full Expo runs 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Hoboken sits right across the river from Manhattan. Hoboken Terminal (NJ Transit and PATH) is a short walk to campus, and there's parking on site. If you're driving from NJ or PA, leave by 9 a.m. to beat the NYC traffic.
If you have a student thinking about college, this is one of the best days of the year to walk through Stevens and see what real students are actually building.
Can't make it? Two things that would help a lot:
Know someone in the energy industry we should talk to? Drop a name in the form below and we'll take it from there.
Follow SynopticFeed on LinkedIn and share the event.
Looking forward to seeing you.
