Agentics NZ - Wellington Meetup with Tom Barraclough!
Tom is going to talk about “radical full-stack digital legal systems”. He’ll explain the concept of “radical” digital regulatory infrastructure and how this helps with using AI systems and implementing law through rules as code.
Hamish Fraser (Tom’s co-founder) will also be on hand to step through some technical details for the DocRef pipeline and how it works. Tom will step through some worked examples then open the floor to questions, with a view to testing how this might work in practice, and how it might drive accelerated AI adoption in New Zealand within and beyond the public service.
The context is a forthcoming paper in the Cambridge Forum on AI Law and Governance, my work on the API Standard, and my work to support the national agenda-setting report on AI from the Human Rights Commission.
About Tom
Tom Barraclough has spent a decade working inside, alongside and across from governments in law, public policy and technology. He is founder and director of the Brainbox Institute (2018), a tech policy think tank, and co-founder of Syncopate (2023), which turns regulatory documents into digital infrastructure that can be built upon and worked with more effectively using AI systems.
