About Event

Most enterprise AI conversations happen at 30,000 feet. This one stays on the ground.

We're convening an open discussion during Toronto Tech Week for the people actually running enterprise AI infrastructure — the architects deciding whether traffic flows through Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, or Vertex; the platform leads explaining a $40K monthly model bill to finance; the engineers getting "but is the data leaving our cloud?" from CISOs at 4 PM on a Friday.

This isn't a panel. There's no headliner. The room does the talking — we seed each topic with two minutes of framing and get out of the way.

Who should come

AI platform leads, principal architects, VPs of AI engineering, CTOs, platform engineers, and infra-curious founders at Canadian companies running real production AI workloads. Investors and operators thinking seriously about this layer of the stack are welcome too.

No press. No "AI strategy" pitches. No slide-driven vendor decks.

What we'll dig into

  • Multi-cloud routing — when provider abstraction helps, when it hurts

  • AI cost governance — what to do when finance asks who spent $40K on Claude last month

  • Agentic platform tradeoffs — runtime, memory, orchestration; build vs. buy at each layer

  • Data-egress lines — where teams are drawing them, and how CISOs are actually involved

  • Observability — what's working, what's broken, what's missing

Bring an open question. The best conversations happen when everyone in the room shows up with one.

Format

Two hours. Roughly 30-50 people. Drinks and light food. Format is unconference-ish — short framing per topic, then the floor opens. Expect to leave with a few contacts and at least one idea you weren't expecting.

Toronto Tech Week is a citywide celebration of the people building what’s next. From May 26–29, 2026, founders, investors, and builders come together for hundreds of community-led events across Toronto, connecting tens of thousands of people around Canadian tech. Torontotechweek.com.

About the host

Hosted by Shabari Shenoy, founder of Bonito — an enterprise AI control plane that runs on the customer's own AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, and GCP Vertex accounts. Different deployment model from every hosted AI gateway on the market. Background before Bonito: 10+ years as a software architect across multi-cloud infrastructure, agentic AI, and fintech.
